Monday -  Intro to weaving, making a
scarf
, prepare a rigid heddle loom
Tuesday - weave on first loom, prepare
                  second loom
Wednesday - Intro to weaving with shafts and treadles. Weave on shaft .               
A floor loom will be available for learning to weave a cotton towel using treadles.
Thursday - Finishing scarves and weaving a sample on a treadle loom.
    
Students from Dianne Fulton's
June workshop :  Maggie
Plattes, Pequot Lakes; Maisey &
Madison Jay, Crosby; and
Macaela Hallan, Pine River.
Joanne Arvidson Hall grew up in Minnesota and stayed true to her Swedish heritage by learning
the ancient craft of weaving. Hall is a weaver, teacher and author with a masters
degree in textile design from the University of Minnesota.
After teaching at the Univ. of Montana and Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California, Joanne
started the
Elkhorn Mountains Weaving Studio in Montana, where she weaves and teaches.
Joanne has been teaching workshops at the Jaques Art Center since 1997.
Weavings of Our Immigrant Grandmothers was a highlight from 1999.
The JAC is proud to welcome back Joanne!
Students will make a wool felted
water bottle cover or pouch.
Please bring an old towel
and plastic storage bag.
Workshop limited to 8 students.

Fresh greens and wire ring will be supplied. Students are asked to bring 6' to 9' of ribbon, pine cones,
and any other materials to decorate the wreath.
Please bring your own garden pruners.
